Our Story
Founded in 2014, Les Brasseurs du Petit-Sault is the first microbrewery in northwest New Brunswick. Located in Edmundston, a town with a rich history of alcohol smuggling, our brewery has transformed an old police station—which may have once sheltered bootleggers—into a vibrant centre for craft beer production, recognized and awarded on a national scale.
As a pioneer of legal beer in Madawaska since prohibition, we take pride in producing beers that combine simplicity and complexity, making the art of brewing accessible to all. Our beers are carefully crafted with the pure water from the Iroquois River watershed, using only the finest malts, hops, and yeasts available.
Born from the vision of a passionate group of friends, Les Brasseurs du Petit-Sault is a bastion of passion, creativity, and innovation at the heart of Edmundston. We honour the independent spirit and notable figures of Madawaska through unique beers that embody our quest for perfection.
Discover our beers on-site, in various bars and restaurants, or through the Alcool New Brunswick network across the province. Each sip of our beers is an expression of our identity and heritage, deeply rooted in our local community.
An active member of the Canadian Craft Brewers Association and Craft Alcohol NB, our microbrewery is committed to promoting and supporting quality and innovation standards in the craft beer industry. This affiliation strengthens our mission to celebrate and share the richness of brewing culture with our community and beyond.
The Brewery Team
To brew the best craft beer, an exceptional team is essential. This is exactly what our brewers, Patrick Dionne and Michaël Dubé, represent at Les Brasseurs du Petit-Sault in Edmundston, New Brunswick. Passionate and dedicated to their craft, they form the backbone of our beers’ success. Deeply respectful of brewing traditions, they are not afraid to get creative in our brewing room, bringing a fresh breeze of innovation to each batch.
Initially an assistant brewer, Mathieu quickly showed an exceptional talent for sharing his passion for craft beer. Today, as our microbrewery’s sales representative, he spreads our brewing spirit throughout New Brunswick. Active on the brewery floor, he remains at the heart of the action, always informed about innovations and new releases. His contagious smile and cheerfulness make every encounter a unique opportunity to discover the richness of our local beers.
André Léger combines a passion for craft beer with solid management experience. Before diving into the brewing world, he gained his experience in the financial sector. Highly invested in the brewing industry, he has contributed to the establishment of various associations and working groups in the artisanal alcohol industry at both provincial and national levels. André likes to remind those who say they don’t like beer that they probably haven’t yet found the one that suits them.
